They won’t deal with the causes
And social media pauses
by Joseph Segal
Best as I can see more people voted for change again than voted specifically for Trump. Improvements to the economy never viscerally hit the bottom 50% of us, you know in ways we feel at the end of the month when we pay our bills, despite what charts elite economists showed us on NPR or whatever media.
The cost of living is still too high. It was a change election. It is a change election every four years unless the economy is booming and everyone is feeling it and even then that changes in the midterms like in 2010. I think Kamala Harris’s administration had good plans and intentions to create positive change economically for the working class, but she was seen as the establishment status quo by most Americans. They voted for change.
President Biden had a 40% approval rating which is disastrous for any incumbent seeking reelection and Haris was too closely tied to his fate, especially with only three months to differentiate herself and make her case for change.
